How the 1% works
A 120-member club at $150 dues that collects 80% online moves $14,400 through HotRange in a season. The fee on that is $144 for the year. The largest clubs hit the $500 cap and stop there; a club that stays on cheques pays $0 of it.
Billed annually — one payment, nothing per seat. Founding ranges pay nothing until their next renewal season.
- Whose Stripe account is it?
- Yours. You connect your own Stripe with a restricted key, and members' dues land in your account directly. HotRange never holds your money and never touches it on the way through.
- Half our members pay by cheque. Is that a problem?
- No — it's first-class. A cheque at the counter is recorded the same way as a card online, and the treasurer marks it received with one click. Clubs that never take a card online pay the $39 and nothing else.
- We already have waivers our attorney wrote.
- Keep them. The clause library is a starting point for clubs that don't have a document; if you do, paste yours in, publish it, and every member signs that exact version. Your attorney reviews once, not every renewal season.
- Are the templates legal advice?
- No. HotRange is not a law firm, and no attorney has reviewed the clause library — it is plain-English starting text. Your club is responsible for every document it publishes: read it yourselves or have your own attorney do it. Adopting a document in the app records that you took it on as your own; the Terms of Service say the same in full.
- What if we want to leave?
- Your data is yours. Ask, and you get your roster and every signed document, at the version each member signed. There is no contract beyond the year you paid for.
- Does this help with our insurance?
- It gives you the record insurers ask for: who signed what, which version, when. We make no claims about premiums — ask your carrier what they want on file, and we'll show you where it lives.
